My visit to Yogyakarta consisted of climbing Mount Merapi and entering the Jomblang Cave. This cave is a vertical cliff about 30 meters to the bottom of the cave. The only way to enter this cave is by rappelling down with a rope. The cave has a second open roof with a diameter of 30 meters. Because of the extreme high humidity in the cave the sun rays through the roof look like a heavenly light. The Merapi volcano has an altitude of 2930 meters and last erupted on may 11 2018. I started to climb at 1 am just to make it in time to witness the sunrise at the top at 6 am.
